Kutch is Gujarat’s biggest district located right next to the Pakistan border. It has two salt deserts, including the Great Rann and the Little Rann of Kutch. During the monsoon, this land is submerged with seawater. When it dries up, it leaves a thick white layer of salt and that is what people come to see. The local Kutchi and Banni people live around this land and are known for their embroidery, mirror work, and music, all of which are performed during Rann Utsav. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rann Utsav is a winter festival in Kutch, Gujarat, where a plain white salt desert turns into a fair of music, dance, food and shopping. Many tourists from Jodhpur add this trip to their Rajasthan tour, as it is not too far and feels nothing like Rajasthan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
